Sunny Pic Update

So I'm back to Canterbury and its rainy weather. It's quite spring-like though so it's not as dull and depressing as one would think. (At least not coming from the piles of snow in Sweden. Pictures to come!) Today I had Tesco deliver food to my door! How luxurious isn't that? He was really nice too haha, that is probably why I am awake at this hour - deliberately chosen an early delivery slot to get out of bed. Go me!
This afternoon (at 5 pm) I'm going to a guest lecture with Dr Robert Schuetze from Durham Law School at Durham University. He's giving a lecture about Federalism and European Union: American and European Perspectives which is related to his recently published book I believe. And then there will be Cottage Pie for dinner and Guild Meeting to accompany it :)

Tomorrow, Thursday, Paul is going to two interviews at Hadlow College (Countryside Management & Garden Design) and he's really nervous. His Dad is taking him there tonight (too kind!) but I don't think I'll see them at all while they're down (nearby) here. They have to get home afterwards afterall.

Oh hello there Mrs Sun! The rain stopped :) Writing essays when it's sunny and warm through the glass and the occasional breeze can't be that bad :) I have 4 essays due in a month and the topics of them will be (no particular order):
  • Will resource wars characterize international conflict in the twenty-first century?
  • In what sense was the decade of the 1960s a watershed in the history of European Integration?
  • Discuss the reasons for Maoist China's isolation from International Society up to the end of the 1960s.
  • 'Reform of the House of Lords is largely unnecessary. Reform of the House of Commons is utterly essential'. Evaluate this view.

Snow in Sweden!

4. Men removing snow from roof.

I recieved a parcel from my sister the other day, her handwriting has become so neat! :) She has an essay to write as well and her thesis is: We must act to stop inhuman labor practices. So Good Luck on that little one. She did get 95/100 on the last one (I believe) so I'm sure there won't be any problems with this one either if she learnt anything from the last essay ;)

Yesterday Evening, I met up with Kath, Keeley, and Charlotte and we talked about houses for next academic year. We all seemed to get along (according to me) so I'm sure it will be great! We're going to some viewings on Friday but I already know what I house I'd prefer (tho one was taken last night at 7 pm.. silly silly :p) since it looks amazing! Once I know what house we get I'll post some pictures :) Either here or on facebook :p

Bad hair day? Susann, Ella, Me in Gbg :)

Love Susann's expression in pic. no. 2!

I really need to get something done today since my room looks really messy. I've requested two books from the library store that I can collect tomorrow, but I need to read two of the books I already have to be able to get them out (there's a limit of 12 books /cry) 20 for postgrads lol :)

The best Lunch place in Gbg! Slimfood in Nordstan. Nom Nom. I guess that's a place I'll never take Paul :P

I'm missing 2 glasses, which is annoying, I'm wondering who has used them/kept them in their room/smashed them or what not. They're not in the kitchen, not in my cupboard, and not in my room. They have also been using cutlery and other material, which I had to clean up this morning if I ever wanted to be able to use it again.

LAN

Monday evening was nice, we had great dinner and then we looked at old pictures of me around the age of 2-5. I was cute back then. Slept in the bed upstairs for the first time and was warm enough - I did prepare with socks and two blankets above the covers and everything. =) Tuesday morning we headed back to town and I forgot to ask for a key (no I don’t have one to either of the places) so I didn’t get in but mum came quickly to give it to me. We went into town and looked around. In the evening we had dinner at dad’s again and looked at some more pictures before we went back into town and mum and I watched Over my dead body. Eva Longoria is an hilarious actress to watch – even though she can only play one type of character but it’s hilarious still.

At lunch time last Wednesday I came to Gothenburg. The day was spent at town in the company of Secrett, Ella, Pat, Wanda, Alex, Susann, and Jos and we had a look around and finished by having salad (and Sushi for some) at a lovely food place in the middle of Nordstan. Later on we (Secrett, Wanda, and Alex) got the round tour of Alex’ house, that was after we helped a lady get out of the snow with her car – it was easy so we have doubts about her driving capability (which increased after we saw how she decided to continue to drive to make room for the waiting car). We also managed to pick up a printer (including scanner and copier) that his family was going to throw. Secrett has said he’s going to post it to me but I’m trying to convince him to keep it at his until/if I move back and use it himself until then. He doesn’t seem convinced yet.

I’ve finished writing two new role play threads. It’s awesome :D Mikaela says she’s soon done with an answer to a thread with Beau and Alizee Yay. At the moment I’m just trying to satisfy my need for writing things which awoke again after writing the two new things. It’s not necessarily good. The people around me are playing Mario Cart and someone is playing Toad in a baby booster – it looks cute but weird since it’s supposed to be some sort of car-vehicle. It reminds me about Secrett’s friend that we saw on the bus last night and his girlfriend is apparently pregnant. He’s my age and well... I’ll just leave it at that.

Earlier today we... well... slept, well that’s what Secrett and Alex claim, they were awake a few hours before Wanda and me. Once I was actually awake, I updated the guild’s website: http://www.angelsofblood.eu . I tried to have a shower but failed to see how to get it working (I did try! Haha) but had to change shower to succeed. Yes, please laugh. :P
When everyone came here we went to Ica to buy food (mm Herrljunga pear cider 0.7%) and when we got back everyone surrounded me with Super Bros Smash Brawl. I joined in after a while. Pikachu ftw.

Secrett’s mother made Semlor and gave to us, twice :) She’s so sweet. She was also more than happy to lend me their car if we ever feel like going somewhere during these days. Trust or not, but a driving’s license was enough haha. Susann drove a Chicken during Mario Cart just now, but apparently it was King Boo – a ghost. It really looked like a chicken tho.

My laptop is really slow at the moment; I suppose I have to blame myself for not having the patience to run one computer scan at a time... 4 scans and msn + internet + word is not a good mix for a laptop, especially not without dual core. We watched Tarzan which gave my computer a little rest from my impatience so it could work somewhat peacefully.

We also had Christmas and Birthday present exchanging. They finally opened my box of xmas presents that I sent them 2 and a half months ago. :) They gave me a digital photo frame :O Like.. Omg? (L) I should probably let my computer have some peace again. “Time elapsed : 5 hours 51 minutes.” Sigh. OOooh and btw, I got a first on my essay! 73% - a first! I’m so haaaaaappy. :D

My PC Doesn't Drink Fanta

Brrr, it's cold out there :)

Yesterday, I spent the day in church and later on with my bodyguard, husband, and son: Malin and Emzz, and had a great time! =) They found some stuff they really liked in town, including a coat and jeans, and I found the most amazing red skirt <3.

Gavin ^__^

When I got home we (my two brothers & my brother's gf) had McDonalds Icecream (The new one is pretty good: McFlurry Lion) and played a game of canasta. =) We played Whist the other day. Card games are fun. =D I also bought a Wow magazine (lol) to look through. Tankin tips ftw :D

Today I went to the dentist ^^ (I would be the only one to write a smiley there I suppose lol) and he said everything looked fine so I don't have to come tomorrow as well =) Afterwards, I spent the morning with grandma and we had fika and then I found a nice bag. I still need another bag to replace the one I was planning on replacing though. =)

Tonight it will be salmon pate
:D Yum yum. Hopefully my dad managed to get internet working at his place now as we'll be staying there over night. Not sure what tomorrow will bring yet.

Tomorrow, Tuesday, is the yearly Fettisdagen (Shrove Tuesday) which means eating at least one Semla, a swedish sweet bread bun with almond icing and whipped cream. It's not only sold during this day but you can only buy it around this period. (Or make them yourself =D) I've already been served small home-made ones in church :D It was delicious!

Now I'm off to world of imagination and my dear Joleene and her family troubles. :)

Ciao

Lich King!

Now I'm in Sweden and I arrived here in one piece, believe it or not.

I left Canterbury on Thursday at 10.30 and when I came to the station (I had to walk there in the snow and water since the local traffic wasn't working, not even on the main road which didn't have snow on it) at 11.30 - 20 minutes before my coach was supposed to leave. I went in to the information and was told all the coaches (from National Express) were suspended. Lovely. I managed to take a train (which was delayed and it took a while for it to get from station to station) and got to Victoria station and to my coach connection in time. Arrived on the airport in time and the flight was only delayed by half an hour at arrival in Sweden. What else to expect from Ryanair though?
I spent a great day in Goteborg yesterday - I saw the Frozen Lake where the Lich King came to get the drake. Secrett has promised to tell me about them if he ever sees them. The train journey was peaceful and uneventful and I arrived in Kalmar on time (and it's more snow here in Sweden in general than it is/was in England). Very reliable. Yes all you swedes! I'm telling you. SJ is very reliable.

Jonathan doesn't remember me :( and that makes me a bit sad, I suppose I've been away too long for him. Almost 6 months. Mum and I went to do grocery shopping and I got to drive :D It was so much fun, even though her current car is a automatic rental car. Simplified driving? Lots of snow as well but went fine. Now I have to peel potatoes for tonight's dinner before the Swedish Eurovision Song Contest choosing thingy.

Pippi Longstocking (animated) on television. Jonathan likes. <3

World Map Plans

What's the norm of how often you publish a post to a blog? I guess it's just when the blogger feels like it or find the time. :)

The coming two days will be very busy. I have a long list of small but essential things that have to be done, and it adds up to a lot. I have to do it in a certain order as well to be able to do some of the things. E.g. Go to the store and buy stamps is something I have to do before I do my laundry - simply because I will get coins for the laundry machine by buying stamps. Logical, isn't it.

I'm planning on redoing my notice-/pin-board, however I'm thinking it might be silly since I'll have to take it down again in just a few months. I'd still like to do it though, and knowing me I probably will. I like doing and putting to practice all of what I plan in my head - sometimes it takes a long time to finish but I always start it quite soon after it's thought of... Sadly it doesn't work like that for essays or coursework in general.
The plans for the board includes: a world map, some string or wire, some "see-through" push pins, lots of research, printing, cutting and organising. It would be awesome, but very full. I'd have to narrow down my research... shame. And the things that are already on my board... well it will be hanging very overlapping around the edges, thrown, organised in folders, or packed in a box/bag until I move - again.

Kath is back now, I saw her yesterday. Moving around is a chore for her though so not a lot of seminars or lectures she can attend yet. We might be meeting on Wednesday (and I have so much to do on Wednesday as it is a whole free day before I leave haha!) to look at a house for next year. Hopefully she will be content to to wait with a decision until I come back. Another week shouldn't matter when "we" have been "waiting" for her ankle to get better a whole month. It will be Kath, Paul, and me, or possibly Kath, Paul, Keeley, Charlotte, and me next year. I have to get in touch with Keeley when she gets back from Dorset to see where they are standing on this particular matter. They might decide to live with the other 3 girls (who have been described as unfair, lazy, and not very caring) since that was their original plan. I have not met Charlotte, but all in all I think that would be pretty good =) Chickflick Night, anyone?
We will (probably), regardless of who ends up in the house, have a guestroom for anyone who wish to visit :D

I have to run off to my seminar in "Key Issues in British Politics Today" soon - Topic: A Decline in Citizen Participation? Afterwards it will be: stamps shopping, possible shopping of a Uni of Kent hoodiiieee, Check-in with Ryanair in the library, and look for a book for Thursday at the same place, and then a seminar between 5 and 6 in "The Rise of China". Possibly I'll do some laundry after that... we'll see what discipline I have =)

I feel like tanking something.

Liberty & Tea

Being Sunday and all I decided to be a bit adventurous with the food (well I actually decided in the store last week when I bought it but well.. details!) and I microwaved my Chinese Chicken and Mushroom-food (Yes Microwaved food ftw :P) and after it was heated I realised it had no rice or anything. It didn't delay my dinner that much tho, since I still had half the pile of dishes left to do. I decided in the end to go with the tortillas I found in my cupboard when I was searching for the rice. They had to be eaten anyway so that made perfect sense. Not too bad actually.

When I was doing the dishes tho, I was reminded by tea and coffee (as I now have actually served 3 Different people tea here. Awesome!). I didn't have any tea or coffee when I lived in Gothenburg and my dad said it was essential to have, even if I didn't drink it myself and somehow I got hold of some loose teabags and small coffeethings (I think my dad gave them to me) which was all good - however, I think he was the only one to drink of them. :) Possibly Susann as well - she hanged around a lot then. Point being: I don't see how coffee and tea is so crucial to have to be able to serve friends (even though it's lovely to be able to count numerous things of what you have to offer) when you can't really supply enough chairs or even a table to put the mugs on. Everyone loves beds but... some people (if you don't know them well) just don't feel comfortable making themselves at home in someone's bed and sit nervously on the edge (and that must really hurt their backs if it's a long visit). [And no I'm not talking about Dave and Angela, I'm sure they are more than comfortable in my tiny room x) They just made me think of it since I've been in similar situations myself]
But then again, this line of thought (yes this is the kind of things I think about when I do the dishes and such lol) made me think about the Liberty lecture we had last term. That equality of freedom will never be met, or not in an equal sense, since we all value different things more than others. And many might exchange their, e.g. right to vote, to be able to have a cup of coffee in peace every morning since they care more about the coffee than many other things. Or rather they'd feel that people are imposing on their freedom if they aren't allowed to drink that cup of coffee. So I guess it's good that I have tea (not coffee) to offer, since some people simply value a cup of tea more than a chair to sit on.

I am now (after this post) going to read for Monday's seminar (which is interesting but not as interesting as last term's seminars) about Realism. Kenneth Waltz' journal article "Realist Thought and Neorealist Theory" is waiting for me. 37 bad quality pages on the computer is not what I would prefer to read.

On the 17th of February (a Wednesday) I'll be arriving in Gothenburg at 12-ish. It will be a shopping day for all who wish to join me :) Shopping (looking?), lunch, friends, talk, shoes, february day in town. It will be awesome! =D And lots of fun. Come if ya like! :D It will be from about 12-ish (12.30 maybe?) till whenever we grow bored, shops close (6-7) or until you have to leave. :) So if you feel like popping up just for an hour or two do so! :D

Me on me Birthday :) so a very updated photo :)

Blog Creation

It's a blog.... omg it's a blog. I don't like blogs. I prefer all the other methods of writing and communicating with friends. Blogs have always for me been associated with blondes, fashion, IQ-bathing ball and so forth (hm.. maybe I just described myself =P), with exceptions. But here I am, creating a blog. My reasons might be weird, but as I'm not talking to my friends as often as I'd like to, and my family always want to know what I'm upto but I don't feel the need to tell them by phone since it happened weeks ago I'll write stuff down here and people can stalk me and keep updated and... maybe not bug me As much with calls ;) I'm Not a Phone person.

I am quite happy with the layout, mainly edited by me including pictures and everything :) But I'm sure I'll change it a tad more as time goes on. If I can get it to work ;)

So it was my Birthday last friday (5th) and Dave and Angela have been down over the weekend and spent time with me :D It's been great :) We've basically just been eating and drinking (non-alcoholic for me of course :P) and walked around. Perfect :D
They have almost talked me into taking back the leadership of my baby: Angels of Blood. I just hope we can get socials and the authority to work this time around. I think, at least I feel more disciplined than last term so I should be alright for time and organising things. Yay :)

And yes, I tend to write a lot since writing is the most natural way for me to express myself (talking with close friends but that's about it lol) :) So suit yourselves if you want to keep track of me. :)
